Frequently Asked Questions Concerning the Affiliate Programs and Influencer

What is Affiliate Marketing?

Affiliate marketing is the process in which a business (oftentimes an online retailer) rewards (the compensation and amount often differing from one business to another) one or more referrers for each visitor or customer brought by the referrer’s own marketing efforts.

When it comes to CannaSOS.Shop, by becoming an Affiliate, you become involved in the promotion of any product, of your choice, offered by Sellers, through your network. You receive a commission on CannaSOS.Shop for every time the product is purchased by users.

For example, let’s say you promote a product in the Hemp Clothing category throughout your website. When visitors click on an affiliate link (linking to a particular product in that category) on your site and buy a product in CannaSOS.Shop, CannaSOS, and the Seller give you a commission for this sale.

How Much Money can I Earn as an Affiliate/Influencer?

This question is difficult to answer as affiliate earnings are usually not consistent. It all depends on how much you are willing to promote the marketplace’s products. Of course, it also simply depends on how many people you want to attract to the website.

You might not know this, but most influencers, that you see on Instagram and other social medias, have a part-time job/hobby that they allocate time towards to help pay the bills. Knowing that affiliate/influencer income is similar to the stock market, CannaSOS.Shop has developed an affiliate program that will provide constant income to partners, for extensive periods of time.

With CannaSOS.Shop, a good affiliate marketer can earn between $15,000 and $300,000 dollars a year. For those that are going to invest a large amount of time towards attracting possible buyers to CannaSOS.Shop, you can earn from $300,000 to more than $1 million as a ‘Super Partner’. And there is no catch. Simply refer, they sign up, and you make a lifetime commission on all their purchases. The more people you refer, the more commission you earn on a yearly basis.

How Does the Affiliate/Influencer Program Work on the CannaSOS Marketplace?

You register on CannaSOS.Shop as an Affiliate. In the Affiliate Program section, you select a product (or multiple products) that interests you, and there you are able to see what commission is offered by Sellers. Pick the product(s) and you receive an affiliate link. Begin to market the link, obviously taking into consideration our Terms of Use (such as Section 5 and 6) and the CannaSOS.Shop Merchant Terms and Conditions (such as Section 5 and 6). Incoming referrals from your link receive a cookie in their browser. If they have created an account on CannaSOS.Shop within 30 days, they will be assigned to your, and ONLY your, referral network by default. Once the Buyer purchases a product, you make a commission.

If the Buyer purchases another product, unrelated to your marketed product, then you will make a commission offered by the Seller, to Affiliates, in the Affiliate Program Section. In the case, the Buyer purchases a product that does not provide any affiliate commission, CannaSOS provides you 5% by default.

How Does CannaSOS.Shop Affiliate/Influencer Program Differ From Others on the Market?

All proposed affiliate/influence programs on the market have the same structure. You are offered a one-time payment in the form of a commission, or a fixed payment, from the sale of goods; usually for a period of one month to a year. Sadly, many companies limit you by limiting the referral link to one product. In other words, if a referral comes from a referral link, but buys a completely different product, you will not receive your commission. Also, if the Buyer bought the same product a second time, you will once again not receive your commission.

There is also the situation where the Buyer comes to your link, does not buy anything, but then come to the site through someone else’s link to the same product – and makes the purchase. In that situation, you once again do not receive anything. These are just three examples, there are many more out there.

CannaSOS.Shop eliminates the problems mentioned above. The Seller sets an affiliate commission when creating a Product Listing. If none is set, CannaSOS provides you with 5% by default. In addition, we add ‘cookies’ to the Buyer(s) browser, giving you a 30-day window for them to create an account on CannaSOS.Shop. Once they register, that referral is now yours.

Can a Seller on CannaSOS.Shop Offer Affiliates a Very High Commission Percentage?

When creating a Product Listing on the marketplace, the Seller sets the commission percentage that will be allocated to affiliates. This percentage is limited, with the minimum being 5% and the maximum being 50%.

What is a ‘Cookie’?

A cookie is a small text file that a website places on a user’s browser (including smartphones, tablets, or other connected devices) to store information about the user’s activities. Almost all companies with high-traffic websites use cookies to track visitors’ online experience, whether it’s return visits, items in their shopping cart, their search preferences, or other activities.

In affiliate marketing, ‘cookies’ are the key to tracking the performance of affiliate partners, their referrals, and how well Product Listings are performing. All positive results should be rewarded.

If you visit an affiliate partner’s website – say, a product review site – and click on a link in its content, a cookie is placed onto your browser or device. This cookie is then used to remember the link/ad you clicked on. By doing so, even if you leave this specific partner’s site and don’t make a purchase until a later date (even after 30 days), this partner can still receive credit for the purchase and receive a commission.

How Long do Cookies Last?

Cookies are stored for 30 days. If your marketplace visitor clicks on a referral link, then within 30 days from the moment of clicking on the affiliate link, the affiliate/influencer is able to receive compensation. If the Buyer registers an account within this 30-day time period, the Buyer becomes part of your affiliate’s network.

What Happens if the Referral Goes and Clicks on Another Affiliate Link, Leading to Another Product?

In this situation, you nonetheless receive commission from the sale of the product. The amount of commission that you receive is dependent on the Seller.

What Happens if a Referral Does not buy Anything Immediately, but Returns to the Site in 20 Days and Makes a Purchase Through Someone Else’s Referral Link?

The Referral will already have a cookie, from your previous link, on their device. If this situation occurs, when the Buyer is in the process of registering, their profile will be recorded and documented to be part of your network. You will receive your commission from this Buyer for life.

How Long Will the Affiliate Receive Commission From the Purchases of the Referral?

As long as a referral’s account is active on CannaSOS.Shop, the CannaSOS marketplace promises to pay lifetime commission to Affiliates.

Can I see my Customer Network and Their Purchases?

You have full access to your network of referrals through the Affiliate Dashboard. There you will be able to see the number of people in your network, the value of the sales, and the commission you are being allocated.

How do Affiliates/Influencers Withdraw Funds?

All commissions, from the sale of goods, are credited to affiliate accounts inside the CannaSOS.Shop platform. As soon as the affiliate partner wants to withdraw their money to their bank account, they make a Withdrawal Order. The Order is executed within 10 business days. At the moment, the only payment method is Wire Transfer. In the future, other payment methods, such as direct payment, will be added.

In addition, the affiliate partner can also purchase any product in the marketplace. The transaction processes instantly.

What is a ‘Commission Rate’?

Typically, affiliate commission percentages, that are set by the Seller, are based on a percentage of the total sale amount (for example 20%. This percentage does not include shipping and tax expenses). Commission Rates can also vary depending on the product, product category, and can range from 5% to 50%.

If the Seller has not set an affiliate commission percentage for the product, the marketplace, by default, pays the affiliate 5% when the particular product has been sold.

Do Affiliates Have to pay to Join a Brand’s Affiliate Program?

There is no cost for affiliates to sign up with any brand that they like.

How Does the CannaSOS.Shop Affiliate/Influencer Program Work for News Outlets?

Many media and news-related websites have a relatively small readerships, which does not allow them to earn revenue consistently from the sale of advertising space (as it is difficult to find customers when you have low traffic). In 2020, Publisher spending fell 20%, and this trend will continue until the COVID-19 pandemic has settled.

Using the Affiliate/Influencer Program, media and news-related websites are able to open an additional revenue stream. After all, with the growth of the affiliate network, sales will grow; bringing consistent income to the site owners.

Example: A website directs 50,000 users per month to CannaSOS.Shop through their affiliate links, with an average conversion rate of 3.5%. With an average price of a purchased product being $30: 50,000 users X 3.5% X $30 = $52,500 is the total dollar value of the sales per month generated from the 50,000 users. Let’s say the average Commission is 10%. Total monthly earnings are $5,250 from new customers + earnings from already registered customers in the previous period.

If you sell Google AdSense ads, then 50,000 users X 0.53% (the average conversion rate using the display network when targeting retailers and other general stores) X $1.00 (the average CPC on the Display Network is under $1) = $265. Your earnings, for the sale of your traffic to Google, will be $265 per month. Media and news-related outlets, including e-commerce sites, that see this difference in the monetization of their traffic will accept our Affiliate/Influencer Program.

I am a Journalist and Blogger. How can I Earn Money on With Your Affiliate Program?

As a journalist or blogger, you have a huge opportunity to create constantly increasing earnings from the CannaSOS marketplace. If you read some of our previous answers in this FAQ, and see the example of how much you can earn, then you most likely understand that each form of content – published in massively visited media and news-related outlets – can bring you referrals in large numbers.

If you publish your content constantly (every day), then you will be collecting traffic on an ongoing basis – specifically traffic that has a higher conversion rate. The conversion rate for articles ranges from 3.5% to 9%. Articles published in popular websites, such as Forbes, can generate over 500,000 views. This is a referral network that you can accumulate, grow, and convert into purchasers on CannaSOS.Shop.

Who Controls What the Affiliate Partner Publishes on Their Website/Blog/Social Media Profiles?

While the Affiliate has control over general information and content shared throughout the web, the Seller has control over what information, part of their Product Listing, is shared with Affiliates. In addition, Affiliates and Sellers are both equally governed by the CannaSOS.Shop Terms of Use (Section 4, 5, and 6).

Can the Seller Take Part in the Affiliate/Influencer Program?

A Seller can open an Affiliate Program for themselves and create a display of products sold on their website, with affiliate backlinks leading back to the marketplace. This will allow Sellers to create their own referral network and earn additional money on it.

Do Affiliates Have to Disclose Their Relationship With a Seller in Their Promotional Efforts?

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) requires a disclosure statement within any and all pages, blog/posts or social media posts where affiliate links are used in an endorsement or review, and where it is not clear that the link is a paid advertisement. Affiliate’s disclosure statements should be clear and concise and state that they may be compensated if the user makes a purchase. E.g. “This post contains affiliate links and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking on my links.” For more information about FTC disclosure requirements, please review the FTC’s “Dot Com Disclosures” Guidelines and the FTC’s Endorsement Guidelines.
